THEATRIC ARTS
Learning through Drama
Students at Kinard can elect to take additional enrichment opportunities in Drama and Musical Theatre. Young Thespians can sign up for the Drama Club, which meets after school one day a week, or the Drama Class, which meets every day from 2:30 - 3:10.
Thespians in both groups produce the annual Madrigal Dinner in December; a 16th century holiday feast featuring 200 singers, dancers, actors, and instrumentalists. A 4-course meal for 400 patrons is served up by young actors trained in improvisation.
During second semester, the Drama Club produces a series of 1-Act plays. The Drama Class produces either a play or a music performed at a professional theatre.
